Hogwarts School of Witchcraft
Hogwarts School of Witchcraft & Wizardry may only be fictional, but it was brought to life by J.K. Rowling's phenomenal series, Harry Potter. He gave the school an identity, past & a place in popular culture history.
Harry Potter fan or not, at time or another all of us wished they were a wizard or witch. They may have even tried to turn our tiny sister in to a frog with a twirl of a wand or tried to make cookies appear on our dinner plates in lieu of broccoli with a zap of a finger. Unsuccessful, they learned to live with our tiny sister while choking down that broccoli & only dreamed about a school like Hogwarts to ideal our "skills."
Harry, along along with his friends Ron Weasley & Hermione Granger, were housed in Gryffindor. The schoolhouse's colors are maroon & gold & the mascot is a lion. Like Godric, students demonstrate bravery, daring, nerve & chivalry characteristics.
It was found by Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw & Salazar Slytherin, a group of medieval wizards & witches, & is located in the wizarding world. Current students are divided in to of of the boarding school's houses, which are named after a founder, & tend to posse the same characteristics as the founder. Students first arrive at Hogwarts around the age of 11 & are placed in to their respected schoolhouse by the Sorting Hat, a magical hat that belonged to Godric & sings songs.
Much like Rowena Ravenclaw, students living in this house have wit, creativity & wisdom. It is haunted by the Grey Ghost who was Rowena's daughter Helena. The house colors are blue & grey & the mascot is a raven.
Hufflepuff's schoolhouse colors are gold & black while the mascot is a badger. These students value loyalty, fair play, honesty & tolerance. Students who resided in Hufflepuff included Ernie Macmillan & Hannah Abbott, both of who attended Hogwarts simultaneously as Harry.
The last schoolhouse is Slytherin whose colors are green & silver with the serpent as its mascot. The founder, Salazar, favored pure blood wizards & was himself. He left Hogwarts after the other founders disagreed with him that only pure bloods ought to be allowed to attend the school. Today, it primarily houses pure bloods & students demonstrate ambition, cleverness & resourcefulness. It also entertains the myth that residing students often turn to the dark arts. It housed Tom Riddle (a.k.a. Lord Voldemort or He-Who-Should-Not-Be-Named), Draco Malfoy & Snape Severus.
